What we collect

The Good Scroll is a US-only app for now, and we aim to collect as little data as possible.

Anonymous analytics (only if you allow it). On first launch we ask before collecting anything; analytics stays off until you tap Allow, and you can turn it off any time in the app’s side menu (Settings → Analytics). When on, we use PostHog to record:

Community lists

Browsing, saving, and publishing community lists uses our backend, hosted on Supabase. To make that work we store:

Your own lists stay on your device unless you publish them. Verse text is never sent to us; the app shows it from the Bible text built into the app.

What we don’t collect

We don’t collect your name, email, or phone number in the app, your precise location, or any cross-app advertising identifier. We do not sell your data, we do not serve ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The Good Scroll is built as an antidote to attention-extracting platforms — we have no interest in becoming one.

How we use it

To run community lists, keep them free of spam and abuse, and understand which verses and themes resonate so we can decide what to build next. We share data only with the service providers that run the app for us (listed below), and never for advertising.

Website and waitlist

If you joined our waitlist on this website, we use your email address to tell you about The Good Scroll. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting jaredgoodscroll@gmail.com.

Third-party services

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing its use of data.

Deleting your data

You can unpublish or delete any list you’ve published from inside the app; deleting a published list removes it from our servers. To delete your username and everything else tied to your anonymous account, see Delete your account or email jaredgoodscroll@gmail.com. We’ll remove it within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, contact jaredgoodscroll@gmail.com.

Children’s privacy

The Good Scroll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
